5 brand tips to build your trades business offline.

1. VEHICLES.

Make sure that your branded vehicles actually SAY what you do.
It’s all very well having your jazzy ‘SMITH & SONS’ logo on there featuring some funky tools in the graphic, but what are you? A handy-person, plumber, carpenter, beauty therapist?

We’ve no idea.

And if we don’t know what you do, we’re not very likely to pick up the phone to ask if you’re available.

2. CLOTHING.

Clothing is a brilliant way to bring brand awareness to your Trades business. And most Trades have this nailed with a nice left chest embroidery.

But don’t waste space!
The back of those polo-shirts and jumpers are a great place to build trust.

Use it to promote your website and phone number along with a simplified version of your logo. Maybe even tell us you’re part of the ‘DECORATING’ team. So no matter if you’re on site or walking through Tesco on your lunch-break, your brand is visible and we know what you do.

You never quite know what conversations it might lead to…

3. SOCIAL MEDIA.

Don’t think you have to use social media to grow your social media. Take advantage of all your offline platforms. Are you advertising your pages on items such as your signage, clothing, vehicles, invoices and stationery - especially business cards? Think about on a day to day basis, how much these items get used and are seen. Don’t miss the opportunity.

Make sure that if your social media handle (that’s the name of the page, such as @nailyourbrand on Facebook - that’s us) isn’t EXACTLY the same as your business name, that you have that written on these items. Don’t just use the social media icons and expect us to guess your page name.

4. PRINT.

When you are meeting a new client for the first time, what are you leaving behind? A business card perhaps? Maybe the quote (if you are able to do that on site)?

Go one better and leave a real sweetener.
A branded card or folder not only show you as professional and trustworthy, but it’s a great opportunity to share reviews from other similar clients, photos of the team, insurances, accreditations and even up-sell other services.

Like I always say, if it’s not visible to us how do we know you do it?

5. CARDS.

Maybe its for Christmas or maybe you’re going to feel the love and send Valentines cards but personalised seasons greetings cards are a fantastic way to remind past clients - who have already worked with you - that you are still trading and happy to help if you need them.

Especially if you are a Trade with lots of repeat business - like a gardener - this is a fantastic way to bring visibility back to your business and be in the forefront of people’s minds when they need you.
